Travis Reid

After nearly 20 years of professional experience in the municipal government and nonprofit sectors, Travis left his full-time work in 2019 to help expand T. Reid Solutions as Chief Executive Officer. Since then, Travis has successfully helped clients launch an angel fund supporting African Americans and Latinos in technology; develop a statewide workforce career pathways initiative for a network of higher education institutions; support entrepreneurship growth by providing access to larger contracts with corporate partners, and support the expansion of workforce training programs in new national markets.

Prior to consulting, Travis achieved significant and measurable outcomes for a city-wide anchor institution project aimed at transforming the local workforce infrastructure by aligning systems, monitoring data, and enhancing training offerings. Travis secured $750K in public funding in 5 short months and launched a multisite screening and client support services infrastructure.

Travis lent his operational expertise to several nonprofit organizations as Chief Operating Officer. In these roles, he demonstrated a keen ability to clear away delays, rally support, and execute initiatives that drove measurable progress. He successfully led budgeting, strategic planning, and staff development processes; rebuilt a functional start-up into a high-performance organization through expanding core competencies in finance, policy and compliance, performance measurement, and talent acquisition; and explicated the organizations’ vision, mission, and guidelines to achieve stakeholder buy-in.

Travis is known as a transformational leader, and with integrity, professionalism, and approachability, he has helped to restore public trust in municipal government by building consensus and collaboration among diverse groups; providing transparent oversight through performance measurement and fiscal monitoring; and using critical data analysis to ensure sound decision-making.

Travis received his BA from Connecticut College and his MPA from Baruch College where he was a National Urban Fellow. Travis has served on several boards and in 2019 became Treasurer for the Board of Directors of Newark Symphony Hall.
